Amorim: Proud of what the players delivered against Udinese
Rubén Amorim, the Portuguese manager of Milan, expressed his great happiness at his team's 2-0 victory over Udinese in the eighth round of Serie A, affirming his pride in what the players delivered despite the numerous absences the team is suffering from.
Amorim said after the match: "I am very happy for the players and proud of them. We talked before the match about the need to be competitive from the first minute, and I think we succeeded in achieving that. Even when we felt fatigued during the second half, we managed to control the game, and now we have to think about the next match."
The Portuguese coach added, speaking about the pressure of matches and injuries: "My job is not just to win the next match, but also to help Milan build its future. Players must get their chance and feel important, and the available players have proven they can handle the pressure and play for this club. I am proud of them, as the responsibility falls on me when they are on the pitch."
Amorim addressed the aspects that need improvement, stating: "We have many things to work on, but we do not have enough time to address the mistakes from the previous match and train to correct them. Over the past three weeks, we have not had enough time for training, so we rely on video clips and technical meetings to learn and develop. I am proud of the players because they absorb the instructions and work hard."
Amorim concluded his remarks by praising Davide Bartisaghi, noting that the player possesses remarkable attacking capabilities, but he needs to improve his defensive performance and increase his aggression in individual duels.
He emphasized the need to continue evolving, as Milan are preparing for a new match against Bologna, before entering a crucial test against Inter.
