Vissing: Al Ittihad deserved victory over Al Daraiyah
Yenz Vissching, the Al-Ittihad coach, expressed his satisfaction with the victory over Al-Dhariyah by two goals to nil, confirming that his team deserved the win in the encounter that took place in the 11th round of the Saudi Pro League.
Vissing stated in the post-match press conference that the pressure of the fixture schedule and the limited time affected the nature of the match, explaining that scoring the first goal and maintaining a clean sheet contributed to reducing the effort exerted.
The Al-Ittihad coach noted that taking advantage of the extra opportunities available to his team would have given them a greater edge, making it easier to handle the flow of the match.
Vissing praised Saad Al-Mousa after his return to action following a long absence due to injury, explaining that his substitution came after receiving a yellow card, to avoid exposing him to additional risks.
Regarding Richard Ríos' involvement in the centre-back position, the Al-Ittihad coach confirmed that the decision was not due to a lack of confidence in the young players, but rather the sensitivity of the match and the need for suitable solutions at that time.
Vissing stated that Richard Ríos's participation in this position does not mean he will be fixed there in upcoming matches, noting that his tactical options change according to the team's needs and the circumstances of each encounter.
Regarding the defensive midfield position, the Al-Ittihad coach clarified that he does not adhere to a fixed duo permanently, confirming that having multiple options provides him with greater flexibility. He chooses the most suitable formation based on the circumstances of each match, given the good performances of the available players.
