El País has highlighted the change in FC Barcelona's attack following Ferran Torres' transfer to Paris Saint-Germain during the last summer transfer window. The Spanish outlet confirmed that the Catalan team has not been affected by the departure of the Spanish forward, who had impressive attacking numbers under coach Hans Flick, ahead of the anticipated clash between the two teams on Tuesday evening in the UEFA Champions League.

Ferran Torres has moved to Paris Saint-Germain for around €50 million after scoring 67 goals in 207 appearances for FC Barcelona. According to the newspaper, the club officials were not entirely convinced about renewing his contract, especially since the original agreement with Manchester City included a clause that would grant the English club an additional €8 million if the player’s contract was renewed, raising the total value of the deal from €65 million to €73 million, including the additional amounts.

The report added that Ferran did not feel sufficiently appreciated at FC Barcelona, while receiving significant interest from other clubs, which led him to accept an offer from Paris Saint-Germain, where he reunited with his former coach Luis Enrique.

The Spanish forward has started his new experience strongly, scoring seven goals in nine matches, earning him great appreciation in the French capital, unlike the atmosphere he experienced during his final days at FC Barcelona.

In contrast, the attacking performance of the Catalan team has not declined after the player's departure, as they have scored 48 goals in 11 matches this season, compared to 27 goals in the same number of matches last season and 34 goals in the season before that. These figures reflect Flick's success in finding diverse attacking solutions, despite not signing the Argentine striker Julián Álvarez, who was one of the options considered to strengthen the front line.

Raphinha stands out among these solutions, having scored 14 goals and provided three assists, confirming his ability to shine in more than one attacking position, whether on the wing or as a central striker. Lamine Yamal is also delivering impressive performances, having scored nine goals and assisted ten others in 11 matches, while Englishman Anthony Gordon has netted two goals and provided five assists in ten matches.

Raphinha is set to return to the starting lineup against Paris Saint-Germain after recovering from injury and played for about 20 minutes against Real Betis, while Flick confirmed his readiness for the match. FC Barcelona will also rely on the brilliance of Lamine Yamal and the attacking quality of Anthony Gordon, facing a team led by Luis Enrique that features a distinguished group of players.

The report also touched on the atmosphere inside the FC Barcelona dressing room during Ferran Torres's recent days, pointing out that his departure was not viewed as a significant loss for the team, despite his good relationships with several teammates, including Pedri. The newspaper quoted one of the team leaders as saying that Ferran had many opportunities with Barcelona, but he was unable to handle the situation appropriately.

All eyes are now on the clash between the two teams in Paris, as Barcelona aims to continue its strong attacking results, while Ferran Torres hopes to prove his ability to shine against his former team. While the Spanish forward is held in high regard in the French capital, it seems that Barcelona has found alternatives in Raphinha and his teammates capable of compensating for his departure without affecting their attacking effectiveness.
