Benoît Trémoulinas wants to return to Bordeaux to help them through their crisis
Former French left-back Benoît Trémoulinas has expressed his desire to return to Bordeaux, which has dropped to the sixth tier in France, to help the club overcome its current crisis.
Tremoulinas retired from football in 2019 and has not played any official match since May 2016, when he participated in Sevilla's 3-1 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Europa League semi-final second leg. The former player will turn 41 years old next December.
Tremoulinas is associated with special memories at Bordeaux, as he was one of the key players in the team that won the Ligue 1 title in 2009 under the management of Lorran. This season remains vivid in the memories of the club's fans.
According to circulating information, Tremoulinas is expected to start training with the team in two weeks, after spending the last five weeks training individually. This comes after an improvement in the condition of his knee injury that forced him to end his football career seven years ago, as he seeks to return and help his former club overcome its difficult circumstances.
