Spanish newspaper "AS" has revealed that José Mourinho has decided not to appear at the press conference following the Villarreal match, fearing that his comments could lead to a severe penalty, in light of the dramatic events that occurred during the match between Real Madrid and Villarreal in LaLiga's eighth round.

Real Madrid won against Villarreal with a goal to nil in the match held at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, earning the royal team three important points in their campaign in LaLiga.

The only goal of the match came in the 63rd minute, after Yan Diomande received a pass from Federico Valverde and struck a low shot from inside the penalty area that found the net, giving Real Madrid the lead and the victory.

The match saw a controversial incident in the 71st minute when Vinicius Junior scored a second goal, following a pass from Jude Bellingham after a quick counter-attack, before the referee decided to review the play leading up to the goal via the video assistant referee.

After reviewing the situation, the referee decided to disallow the goal and showed a direct red card to Vinicius Junior, as video technology revealed that Vinicius had pulled the hair of a Villarreal player during the attack from which the goal was scored.

The incident has raised questions about the potential punishment for Vinicius Junior, as a direct red card requires a suspension of at least one match, with the possibility of the ban increasing to three matches according to the referee's report.
