Rodgers and Buckingham react to Al Qadsiah's five-goal win against Al Khulood

Al Qadsiah temporarily took the lead in the Saudi Pro League after thrashing Al Khulood 5-0 in the eighth round. Dais Pakenham attributed the heavy defeat to defensive absences and the difficulty of the match.

Brendan Rodgers, the manager of Al Qadsiah, expressed his satisfaction with the result and performance, confirming during the press conference that his team delivered an excellent match and deserved to win, despite the players being apart for a considerable period. He pointed out that hunger and desire were the most prominent features of the group's performance.

Rodgers has noted significant improvement in Al Qadisiyah's performance since taking charge, considering that the performance against Al Khulood reflects the level he wants to see consistently. However, he emphasized the need to evaluate the match and not to become complacent after the victory, especially with the ongoing challenges ahead.

Al Qadsiah's coach discussed the physical conditions and weather, noting that the team started excellently, and that improving conditions will help players raise the tempo of play. He added that the team is still in a building phase, amidst the pressure of matches, multiple competitions, and closely spaced encounters.

Brendan Rodgers has sent a message of support to Musab Al-Juwair, emphasizing that the young player possesses exceptional talent and high technical abilities. He acknowledged that making mistakes is common at this age, but he can learn from them and improve his level in the upcoming period.

Des Buckingham, the head coach of Al-Khulood, explained that the absence of three defenders made it difficult for his team against Al-Qadisiyah, noting that the opponent delivered an impressive performance and created numerous chances.

He added that the penalty awarded to Al-Khulood was an opportunity to come back, but missing it made the match more difficult, pointing out that Al-Qadisiyah has world-class names that make them contenders for the Saudi Pro League title.
