Bayern Munich include Nick Pope among candidates to succeed Neuer

Bayern Munich have included Newcastle United goalkeeper Nick Pope in their list of candidates to strengthen the goalkeeping position as Manuel Neuer's era at the Bavarian club comes to an end, according to "Sky Sport Germany".

Bayern are searching for a goalkeeper who possesses experience and the ability to provide stability and leadership, rather than a young keeper who would directly compete with Yann Sommer for the starting position, as the club sees Sommer as one of the key options for the future.

Nick Pope's name comes among an extended list of experienced goalkeepers, including Oliver Baumann, Marvin Schwäbe, Bernd Leno, Finn Dahmen, alongside Koen Casteels, Kevin Trapp, Frederik Rönnow, Lukas Hradecky, Juan Musso, and Rui Silva.

Nick Pope's contract with Newcastle ends in June 2027, making him a viable option for Bayern as they plan for life after Manuel Neuer, whose current deal runs until the summer of 2027.
