Arsenal renews attempts to sign Alvarez in January
Arsenal are set to renew their attempts to sign Julián Alvarez, the Atlético striker, in January, as the player has become more open to a move to the Emirates Stadium.
TEAMtalk reports that Julián Alvarez is still unconvinced about continuing his career with Atlético in the long term, despite his commitment to professionalism since his return, which has revived Arsenal's hopes of completing the deal.
Arsenal were prepared to pay over £100 million this summer, with Andria Bertha having talks with Atlético about the possibility of including players in the deal, including Viktor Gyökeres and Noni Madueke.
The same source believes that Erling Haaland's potential transfer to FC Barcelona could enhance Arsenal's chances, especially since Julián Alvarez considers the London club his first choice if a move to Barcelona does not go through.
Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are still interested in the player, but Arsenal appear to be the closest to providing a route for him to leave Atlético, with negotiations potentially resuming in January.
