Arsenal eye Konsa's fitness ahead of Leeds clash
Arsenal are awaiting the status of defender Ezri Konsa ahead of their match against Leeds United after he suffered a thigh injury while with the England national team. Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta received a boost with the return of three players to training.
TEAMtalk has reported that Ezri Konsa remains a major doubt before Saturday's match, having left the England camp after suffering another thigh injury during the clash with Croatia, despite having played the full matches against Spain and Croatia.
Thomas Tuchel has stated that the injury is not serious, but the coaching staff decided not to take any risks with the player, who has returned to Arsenal for treatment. The Standard has also reported that Ezri Konsa is not confirmed to be ready for the match against Leeds.
In the absence of Ezri Konsa, Mikel Arteta may rely on Cristhian Mosquera or Piero Hincapié alongside Gabriel, especially since the duo has appeared in Arsenal's training during the international break, while Ben White is also nearing a return.
In contrast, Arsenal have been dealt a blow with injuries to Kai Havertz and Christos Tzolis while representing Germany and Greece, respectively. Havertz is a doubt for the match against Leeds after sustaining a hamstring injury, while Tzolis is expected to be sidelined for two to three weeks, with a potential return against Everton on October 24.
