Arteta enlists RAF fighter pilots
Mikel Arteta, Arsenal's manager, continues to seek unconventional ideas to develop his team, this time by consulting fighter pilots from the Royal Air Force, with the aim of studying their communication style in the most challenging situations.
According to the British newspaper "The Telegraph", Mikel Arteta plans to communicate with pilots to understand how they exchange instructions during high-stakes situations and attempt to transfer this approach to the pitch.
Arteta said: "I will reach out to those people to understand how they communicate, because for them it is a matter of life or death. I am sure they do not use 20 phrases or 20 words if they can use one word."
The Spanish coach believes that football instructions should have the same level of clarity and precision, especially in moments when players are under significant pressure and need to understand what is required of them as quickly as possible.
This is not the first time that Mikel Arteta has resorted to unconventional methods to test his players, as he previously enlisted pickpocket specialists during a team dinner, where they stole some of the players' belongings without their knowledge, in order to assess their attentiveness and awareness of their surroundings.
These thoughts reflect Arteta's ongoing desire to seek out small details that can give Arsenal an additional edge, both on and off the pitch, with a focus on developing players' behavior and their ability to handle various situations.
