Riyad Mahrez arrives in Doha ahead of joining Al-Shamal

Algerian star Riyad Mahrez has arrived in the Qatari capital Doha, preparing to complete his transfer to Al-Shamal, in a move that opens a new chapter in his football career after leaving Al-Ahli.

Riyad Mahrez is set to undergo necessary medical examinations before officially signing with the Qatari club, with whom he has reached a verbal agreement for a short-term contract, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Riyad Mahrez departed Al-Ahli in June, becoming a free agent, before nearing a new experience in the Qatari league, in a free transfer.

Algerian star has had a remarkable career in European football, shining in the Leicester City shirt before moving to Manchester City, and then continuing his professional journey outside Europe through Al-Ahli.

If he passes the medical examination and signs the contracts, Mahrez will begin a new chapter in his career in the Qatari league, after spending many years at the highest levels of European and Saudi Arabian football.
