International break gives Balde new chance with Barcelona

The international break may give Alejandro Balde a chance to regain his place in FC Barcelona's lineup, after his role has clearly diminished at the start of the season, with Hans Flick relying on Xavi Espasart and João Cancelo in the left-back position.

According to the Spanish newspaper "Sport", Alejandro Balde has participated in just 12 official minutes this season, during the closing minutes of the 7-2 victory over Racing. He has not started any matches so far, and Flick excluded him from the squad against Elche, explaining that he spoke with him to clarify his thoughts.

Espart has played five matches for FC Barcelona as a left-back, while Cancelo has also taken on an important role in that position. Both players are currently involved in international commitments, with Cancelo representing Portugal and Espart with the Spain U21 team.

Getafe will be the first match for FC Barcelona after the break, with Flick needing to assess the condition of João Cancelo and Espart upon their return from international duty. The German coach's decisions may provide a clear indication regarding Alejandro Balde, who remained in Barcelona to continue training and may finally get a chance to return to the starting lineup.
