Koundé: My last season was below my level, and this is the reason for my reduced appearances

Jules Koundé, defender of FC Barcelona, has spoken candidly about his current situation with the team, confirming that his reduced participation at the start of the season is not related to any physical issue, but rather a tactical decision from coach Hans Flick. He also takes responsibility for his performance during last season.

Jules Koundé, while with the France national team, said in statements reported by the Spanish newspaper "Sport": "I am not suffering from any injury, it is a decision made by my coach, it is a result of last season, where I was below my usual level."

Speaking about his desire to regain his place at FC Barcelona, the French defender said: "It is a challenge I accept. I need to regain my feelings, because I know that when I am at my best, I can get minutes."

In discussing the French national team, Jules Koundé praised coach Zinedine Zidane, stating: "He is a coach who is very close to his players and talks to us a lot both on and off the pitch. He wants us to be a team that is aggressive."

Jules Koundé has spoken about the aspects he seeks to develop in his level, explaining: "I have a lot of room for improvement in making fewer mistakes with the ball, and I can also provide more depth."

Regarding the competition within the French national team, Koundé said: "There has always been competition in the French national team, with an academy full of talent. I don't know if the competition is greater now than it was before, but it is a source of motivation, the battle is primarily with myself."

Jules Koundé praised his teammate Michael Olise, stating that he possesses quality and technical ease, along with the ability to work for the team and a talent for scoring and passing.

He also spoke about goalkeeper Mike Maignan, saying: "I am very happy to see him performing at this level, we all recognize his quality."
