João Félix faces a new obstacle in his return to Barcelona, after the newspaper "Sport" revealed that there is a clause in his contract with Al Nassr that allows the club to unilaterally extend his contract, provided that specific conditions regarding the duration of the extension, the financial compensation, and the timing of its activation are met.

The Spanish newspaper reported that João Félix wishes to return to European football after the end of his experience in Saudi Arabia, placing Barcelona at the top of his options, driven by a desire to participate in the UEFA Champions League. The report indicated that Al-Nassr officials intend to meet with his agent Jorge Mendes to discuss his future.

In Barcelona, the club knows of the player's desire to return, but the deal is not a priority at the moment, especially as he may find himself behind Gordon and Adeyemi in coach Flick's plans.

João Félix had played for Barcelona on loan during the 2023/2024 season, making 44 official appearances and scoring 10 goals while providing 6 assists, before later moving to Al Nassr in 2025, where he regained his form and delivered a more productive performance.

The player's future remains tied to Al Nassr's stance on activating the extension clause in his contract, while João continues to express his desire to return to Europe, with Barcelona being his preferred destination.
