German Fabian Hurtseller, the head coach of Brighton, has been awarded the Premier League Manager of the Month for September, claiming the award for the second time in his career after leading his team to an impressive month without defeat.

Brighton have secured two wins and a draw in September, moving up to third in the table after scoring nine goals and conceding only one. This accolade comes more than two years after they first won the award in August 2024.

Brighton secured a big victory over Arsenal, winning 3-0, handing the defending champions their first defeat of the season. They also thrashed Coventry away with a five-goal haul, before drawing 1-1 with Leeds United.

Brighton lead the Premier League this season in possession with 64.8%, shots on target averaging 5.7 per match, and big chances created with a total of 22 chances, alongside regaining the ball in the attacking third at an average of 7.2 times per match. The team has also scored 16 goals in the league, three goals ahead of Arsenal, who have the second highest scoring tally, averaging 3.2 goals per match.

Hurtzeller has outperformed Andoni Iraola, Liverpool's manager, and Enzo Maresca, Manchester City's manager, after the fans' votes were counted alongside a panel of experts.

With this award, Brighton completed a double in the September awards, after their compatriot Pascal Groß won the Player of the Month award in the Premier League.
