Injury curse haunts Green players in Gulf 27

The Saudi national team continues its strong performances in the Gulf Cup 27 held in Jeddah, having secured a Semi-Final spot with a perfect record. However, ongoing injuries are threatening their preparations for the crucial stages.

The medical troubles for the Green began during the opening match against Kuwait, as goalkeeper Nawaf Al-Aqidi suffered an injury, leading to his exclusion from the camp and the call-up of Abdulqadoos Atiyah, the goalkeeper from Al-Ala, to compensate for his absence.

In the second match against Oman, injuries have compounded as midfielder Alaa Hejji and defender Hassan Kadhsh were hurt, with the latter officially ruled out of the camp for treatment and rehabilitation.

The injury saga continued during the third match against Iraq, as Zakaria Hawsawi was forced to leave the pitch due to an injury, becoming the latest name to raise concerns within the Saudi national team.
