Tunisia held to a draw by Botswana as struggles continue

Tunisia settled for a 2-2 draw against Botswana this evening, in the second round of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, continuing their search for a first win under coach Moïne Chaâbani.

Botswana started the match strongly, taking the lead in the 38th minute through Kagamaniani, before the Tunisian national team equalised in the 44th minute with a goal from Hazem Al-Mestouri, ending the first half with a goal for each team.

With the start of the second half, Tunisia's Eagles continued their pressure, and Msatouri managed to score his second goal of the match in the 49th minute, giving the Tunisian national team the lead.

However, the Botswana national team quickly returned to the match, as Ditsile managed to equalise in the 60th minute, taking advantage of a defensive error from the Tunisian team, and the score remained the same until the final whistle.

The draw against Botswana is Tunisia's second in a row in the qualifiers, having started their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Uganda in the first round, thus delaying coach Jalel Kadri's first victory with the "Carthage Eagles".
