Date set for reconciliation session between FC Barcelona and Florentino

A reconciliation session between FC Barcelona and Florentino Pérez has been scheduled for November 25 at 9:40 AM in the hearing room of the first and second courts in Madrid.

According to "Mundo Deportivo", the settlement session represents a step before filing a criminal complaint against Florentino Pérez, regarding statements suspected of constituting a defamation crime under Article 205 of the Spanish Penal Code. Barcelona had requested to hold the settlement session last June, demanding that the president of Real Madrid retract his statements in which he accused the club of stealing 7 LaLiga titles.

The issue dates back to comments made by Pérez during a press conference on May 12, and later in an interview, where he stated that Real Madrid could have won 14 league titles instead of 7, as 7 titles were stolen from them, in the context of the Negreira case.

Real Madrid's president has accused FC Barcelona of always benefiting from refereeing matters and has called for UEFA to intervene in the case, speaking about corruption suspicions linked to refereeing over the past 20 years. He mentioned that Real Madrid is preparing a 600-page file to submit to UEFA.

If Florentino Pérez does not retract his statements or respond to what FC Barcelona requests during the reconciliation session, the Catalan club will file a criminal complaint against him. If FC Barcelona does not attend, it will be considered as waiving its request and the case will be closed, while the absence of the requested party for reconciliation will be regarded as an attempt at reconciliation that meets the legal effects.

FC Barcelona considers Florentino's statements an insult to the club and is confident of winning this legal battle.
