Despite agreeing to a contract renewal, Liverpool continue to monitor Tchouaméni

Liverpool continue to be interested in Aurélien Tchouaméni, the midfielder of Real Madrid, despite the French player reaching an agreement with the Spanish club regarding a contract renewal, with communication between the two parties still ongoing, according to "TEAMtalk".

Liverpool have contacted Real Madrid during the summer to discuss the possibility of signing Tchouaméni, before things changed following the player's meeting with José Mourinho, the new head coach of the team, and reaching an agreement on a new long-term contract.

Despite this, Liverpool have not closed the door on the transfer deal, as the club has maintained communication with the player's camp, with the possibility of returning to the transfer market if a suitable opportunity arises, especially since Tchouaméni is considered one of the players the club could think about signing.

At the moment, Liverpool are not actively moving to finalize the deal, while Aurélien Tchouaméni continues to compete for a starting spot at Real Madrid and does not want to settle for a backup role.
