Officially.. Abongile Tom to officiate Morocco vs Gabon clash

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation has appointed South African referee Abongile Tom to officiate the match between Morocco and Gabon in the first round of the Africa Cup of Nations Qualification 2027.

The match will take place on Friday, September 25, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, where the Moroccan national team will kick off their continental qualifying campaign against Gabon.

The match kicks off at 10 PM Saudi time, as anticipation builds for the start of the Atlas Lions' journey in the Africa Cup of Nations Qualification, after the African Football Confederation set the schedule for the first two rounds for the Moroccan national team.

Abongile Tom is one of the international referees from South Africa, and he was part of the officiating list for the FIFA World Cup 2026, before taking charge of the match between Morocco and Gabon at the start of the Africa Cup of Nations Qualification.
