Mariska on Foden suspension: His absence is very impactful

Enzo Maresca, the manager of Manchester City, has confirmed that Phil Foden's absence due to suspension will impact the team, noting that the player had been performing well recently before being sent off in the derby against Manchester United.

Mariska said: "His absence is very impactful, as he was performing well. He started quite well against Manchester United, during the minutes he participated in," referring to the minutes Phil Foden played before receiving the red card.

Phil Foden will miss Manchester City's match against Norwich City in the EFL Cup, followed by the game against Sunderland in the Premier League, before concluding his suspension by missing the match against Liverpool after the international break.

Mariska added regarding the player's return: "He will miss tomorrow's match, Sunderland, and Liverpool, then he will return," meaning Manchester City will lose one of their important attacking elements for three matches before regaining him after the suspension period.
