Yamal dominates dribbling with exceptional numbers
Lamine Yamal, the winger of FC Barcelona, continues to confirm his superiority in dribbling, as the statistics from the last two seasons show he has the best rates of beating opponents, according to a report published by the Spanish newspaper "Sport".
The newspaper reported that Lamine Yamal has completed 493 successful dribbles since Hans Flick took over as manager of FC Barcelona, averaging 5.1 dribbles every 90 minutes, a significant gap from his closest teammates, with Raphinha in second place with 117 dribbles, followed by Pedri with 112 and Fermín López with 111.
Lamine Yamal's dominance extends to the UEFA Champions League, where he was the player with the most completed dribbles in the last two editions, recording 56 successful dribbles in the 2024/2025 season and then 46 in the following season, despite FC Barcelona playing fewer matches compared to some rivals who had the opportunity to play up to three additional games.
Lamine Yamal has started the current season in the same way, completing seven dribbles in his appearance against Feyenoord, topping the list alongside Queta of AEK Athens, while Ouliz had five dribbles and Dembélé had four.
In LaLiga, Lamine has also outperformed Vinícius Júnior in the number of dribbles over the last two seasons, completing 493 dribbles compared to 276 for the Real Madrid player, a difference of 217 successful dribbles.
Barcelona's winger excels not only in dribbling but also in creating scoring opportunities, having made 235 chances compared to 216 for Vinícius. He has 89 direct contributions to goals, with 47 goals and 40 assists, while the Real Madrid player has 76 contributions, scoring 45 goals and providing 28 assists.
