RC Lens turn the tables late on to beat SK Slavia Prague in the Champions League
RC Lens began their UEFA Champions League campaign with a thrilling away victory, coming from behind to beat SK Slavia Prague 3-2 in a match that saw rapid events until the final minutes.
The French team appeared to be heading for a negative result after falling behind on multiple occasions, despite having a numerical advantage since the start of the second half following the red card for Konechny in the 49th minute.
SK Slavia Prague took advantage of the difficult circumstances faced by their opponent, with Storm scoring twice against RC Lens in the 51st and 88th minutes, putting the home side in a complicated position before the final whistle.
RC Lens refused to give up and began to come back in the closing minutes, with Sima reducing the deficit in the 73rd minute, before Thauvin managed to equalize in the 91st minute.
The French team did not stop there, as they continued to apply pressure until the final seconds, with Aguilar granting them a killer goal in the 93rd minute, turning the match around dramatically.
With this victory, the blood and gold team secured three valuable points at the start of their continental campaign, having been close to losing for long periods of the match. They have made a strong first step in the competition, as they will meet Sporting at their home ground on October 13 in search of continuing their momentum.
