Dugary criticises Fofana's transfer to Sunderland

Former French star Christophe Dugarry has expressed his strong dissatisfaction with the handling of compatriot Malick Fofana's transfer to Sunderland, criticizing what he described as the interference of those around the player to achieve financial gains.

Dugarry said: "We are still surprised! We know that all these people surrounding football players care about only one thing: making a huge fortune."

He added: "Few are the agents or advisors who truly care about the player's interests. In the end, it is the player who signs the contract, not the agents or relatives. The player is the one who signs and agrees to it, which means that in the end, he is the one who bears the decision."

Dugarry criticized the player's uncle for demanding a commission of €500,000, sarcastically saying: "I almost want to ask him: Are you the one who will endure this torment in the dead of winter in Sunderland?"

He added: "It is clear that this disgraceful behavior comes from the family, and it is shameful and unreasonable!"

Dugary concluded his message by criticizing the way players' futures are handled, stating: "The first question you should ask your player is: Where do you want to go?".
