Sunderland reject sale of Brian Brobbey to Manchester United

Manchester United continue to pursue a deal for Brian Brobbey during the upcoming winter transfer window, but Sunderland have made it clear they are holding onto the striker and will not allow him to leave mid-season.

Brian Brobbey, aged 24, is a target for Manchester United, who are looking for a striker during January, with Serhou Guirassy among the names the club is monitoring. However, Sunderland had rejected selling the player in the summer, despite interest from other clubs, and he is contracted until the summer of 2029.

Manchester United remain interested in Brian Brobbey, but the club's owner, INEOS, is not currently preparing to make a serious move for him. Sunderland value their striker at around £50 million, especially after he scored a hat-trick against Manchester City this month.

Sunderland are holding on to Brobbey as a key part of their long-term plans and show no intention of selling him in January, making a move to Manchester United mid-season unlikely.
