Como officially announces the signing of Robert Sánchez
Como have officially signed Spanish goalkeeper Robert Sánchez on loan from Chelsea until the end of the 2026-2027 season.
Robert Sánchez's transfer to Como comes to bolster the goalkeeper position, where the Spanish keeper will work under the management of Cesc Fàbregas, who praised his abilities and experience at the highest levels.
Cesc Fàbregas said: "Robert has top-level experience, and his abilities match the way we want to play. He is a strong goalkeeper with a big presence, but he is also very comfortable with the ball and can help us build play from the back. We are very happy to welcome Robert to Como."
Robert Sánchez, born in 1997, began his career at Levante's academy before moving to Brighton when he was 15 years old.
Robert Sánchez had loan spells with Forest Green Rovers and Rochdale before returning to Brighton and getting the chance to participate in the Premier League, where he made his debut in November 2020, quickly becoming the team's first-choice goalkeeper.
In August 2023, Sánchez joined Chelsea and participated in six matches during their journey to win the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, also earning the Golden Glove award as the best goalkeeper in the tournament.
Spanish goalkeeper Robert Sánchez has played for Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League and has over 170 appearances in the Premier League. On the international stage, Sánchez has represented Spain and was included in the squads for the UEFA Euro 2020 and the FIFA Club World Cup 2022.
Robert Sánchez expressed his happiness at joining Como, stating: "I feel great, it has been a very special welcome. I am very happy to be here, and I will do my best to develop this team, and I can't wait to get started."
Como hope that Robert Sánchez's arrival will be a strong addition to the team, given his extensive experience in the Premier League and his ability to play with his feet and contribute to building attacks from the back.
