Al Quwa Al Jawiya Held to Draw by Naft Maysan

Naft Maysan forced a 1-1 draw against their hosts Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya this evening at the late Sharar Haidar Stadium in Baghdad, as part of the fourth round of the Iraqi Premier League.

The result keeps Al-Suqoor winless, while it grants Al-Fursan Al-Mamlakah a precious point away from home despite the difficult circumstances the team is facing.

Al Quwa Al Jawiya entered the match with significant pressure in search of breaking the draw curse and achieving their first win of the season.

The first half was entirely in favor of "Al-Suqoor" in terms of possession and threat, as the team created several scoring opportunities but were met with the brilliance of Naft Maysan's defense and a lack of finishing touch.

The visiting team relied on a solid defensive setup and counter-attacks, successfully exiting the first 45 minutes with a clean sheet despite the home side's obvious superiority.

In the 57th minute, Senegalese Dimi Daouda scored the first goal for Naft Maysan, giving the lead to "Knights of the Kingdom" and silencing the Sharar Haidar Stadium.

The goal has disrupted the plans of Tunisian coach Fathi Jebali and pushed Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya to advance their attack even further.

"Al-Suqour" pressed, controlled the game, and threatened Naft Maysan's goal on several occasions. Their persistence paid off in the 74th minute when the team was awarded a penalty, successfully converted by Mohammed Jawad to level the score.

After the goal, Air Force FC tried to snatch the win, but haste and poor finishing prevented the team from adding a second goal, ending the match in a 1-1 draw.

With this draw, Air Force Club has raised its tally to just 4 points after four consecutive draws.

The team still occupies a lowly position unworthy of the name of last season's champion, and the pressure on coach Fathi Al-Jabal has increased as he has yet to secure his first win.

Maysan Oil returned to Maysan with a valuable point against the league champions. The point raised the tally of "the sons of Amara" to 3 points, providing them with a significant morale boost in their fight to escape the bottom of the table.
