Basem Qassem: "We Respect Zakho, Our Goal is to Keep Winning"

Al-Zawraa Club concluded its preparations today for the upcoming match against Zakho, scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, August 29, at Al-Zawraa Stadium, as part of the fourth round of the Iraqi Premier League. Head coach Basim Qasim and player Sajad Fadel spoke at a press conference.

Basem Qasim stated, "Respect is there, but our ambition is to win." The coach highlighted the importance of aiming for victory as they prepare for their upcoming challenge.

Al-Zawraa's head coach Basim Qasim confirmed that his team is ready for the upcoming match, stressing the importance of maintaining their winning momentum following the recent 4-0 victory against Naft Maysan.

Qasim stated: "We have faced Zakho many times in past seasons and each match has been different. We respect this team a lot because they have big names and special signings like Ali Jassim and Akam Hashim."

He added: "But we are Al-Zawraa, we play on our home ground and among our fans. Our goal is clear: to achieve victory and collect the three points. We are not thinking about anything else."

The coach stated: "The players have high confidence after the last victory. Hassan Qouki's return has given us more options in midfield. The important thing now is continuity and maintaining this level."

Qassem concluded his message to the fans: "We promise our supporters that they will see a team that fights for every ball. Their support is our strength at Al-Taji Stadium."

Sajad Fadel, a player for Al-Zawraa, spoke about the team's atmosphere ahead of the match, emphasizing the players' resolve to clinch the game.

Fadil stated: "We know that the match against Zakho is always tough and intense. They are a respectable team and play modern football."

He added: "But we are in a good position now. The recent victory gave us a big boost. We are more in sync as players and ready physically and technically."

He continued: "We play for the fans and for the three points. We know that fourth place is not enough for our ambitions. We want to get closer to the top step by step."
