Zabiri Leads Racing Santander to First Win After La Liga Return

Racing Santander achieved their first victory in La Liga after returning to the top flight, overcoming Elche with a score of 3-2 on Friday evening in the third round of the competition.

Moroccan forward Yassir Zabiri shone brightly, scoring a complete hat-trick in the first half, granting his team a substantial lead before the break.

Zabiri opened the scoring in the 15th minute, capitalizing on a glaring mistake by Elche's goalkeeper Dituro. He added a second goal in the 21st minute, before completing his hat-trick in the 36th minute with a powerful left-footed strike.

Despite Racing's commanding 3-0 lead, Elche made a strong comeback in the final minutes, with Sangaré scoring to reduce the deficit in the 78th minute. Just a minute later, Fran Nino added a second goal for Elche.

Elche attempted to snatch an equalizer in the final minutes, but Racing held firm until the final whistle, securing their first three points in La Liga since returning to the top flight.

This marks Zabiri's first start in Spanish football, and it turned into an extraordinary night for the Moroccan striker, who was crowned the top scorer of the Under-20 World Cup.
