Al-Zawraa Thrashes Naft Maysan 4-0 in League Clash

Al-Zawraa achieved a resounding and well-deserved victory against their guests Naft Maysan with a score of 4-0 this evening, Tuesday, at their home ground, as part of the third round of the Iraqi Premier League.

From the opening whistle, Al-Zawraa's intentions were clear. Their style of play was superior, as they dominated the flow of the match entirely, while Naft Maysan retreated to defend and relied on quick counterattacks in an attempt to snatch a surprise goal.

The continuous pressure from Al-Nawras translated quickly, with the breakthrough coming in the 15th minute when the referee awarded a penalty to Al-Zawraa. Loi Al-Ani stepped up to take it and initially missed, but the ball came back to him, allowing him to slot it into the net, announcing Al-Nawras's lead.

The resounding victory provided Al-Zawraa with a significant morale boost following two setbacks in the first two rounds, reinstating confidence among the players and the coaching staff led by Basim Qasim.
