Suarez Nears Premier League Move Amid Barcelona Interest

Nottingham Forest has entered negotiations to sign Colombian striker Luis Suarez, currently with Sporting Lisbon, amid previous interest from Barcelona in his services, according to French newspaper 'L'Équipe.'

Nottingham Forest's interest in Suarez comes after the striker enjoyed a standout season with Sporting, where he netted 38 goals in 53 appearances across all competitions, establishing himself as one of the top forwards in the Portuguese league.

Barcelona has included the 28-year-old player in their list of options to strengthen the center-forward position, especially after Robert Lewandowski's departure. However, competition for his services may now shift towards the Premier League.

Luis Suarez is under contract with Sporting until 2030, giving the Portuguese club a strong position in negotiations. Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest is looking to finalize the transfer in their favor during the remaining days of the summer transfer window.
