Official: Mamadou Sarr Joins Real Sociedad

Real Sociedad has announced the signing of Senegalese defender Mamadou Sar on loan from Chelsea for one season. This move aims to provide the player with greater opportunities to participate and develop at the first-team level.

The deal does not include a purchase option, meaning Sarr will return to Chelsea at the end of his loan period, confirming that the English club still considers the young defender part of their future plans.

At just 20 years old, Sarr plays as a center-back and is known for his ability to operate in multiple positions across the backline. He joined Chelsea from Strasbourg after previously experiencing a loan spell with the French club.

Sarr's transfer to Real Sociedad comes after the Moroccan Nayef Aguerd's deal fell through due to fitness issues, making Sarr the first defensive reinforcement for the Spanish team during the current transfer window. Coach Pellegrino Matarazzo hopes to leverage the Senegalese defender's abilities in the upcoming season.
