Enzo Fernandez Decides on Barcelona Move After Deco's Approach
Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernandez, currently at Chelsea, has become a target for Barcelona and Manchester City during this summer's transfer window, as speculation grows about his future with the English club.
According to journalist Simon Phillips, Deco, Barcelona's sporting director, contacted Chelsea last week to inquire about Enzo Fernandez's situation and the possibility of signing him.
Philips pointed out that Fernandez does not seem interested in moving to Barcelona, after receiving information from the player's camp indicating that a transfer to the Catalan club is off the table.
The report indicates that Manchester City and Real Madrid are the preferred destinations for Fernandez should he decide to leave Chelsea, while his agent continues discussions with the English club.
Philips stated that Fernandez's future is still open, with expectations that Manchester City will attempt to sign him during the current transfer window, while Chelsea continues to monitor the situation.
The report suggests that Barcelona's interest in Fernandez comes despite the club's recent signing of Rodri from Manchester City. Additionally, the deal is expected to be costly, making the acquisition of the Argentine midfielder an unlikely option at this time.
