Eastern Company's Coach Reflects on Defeat to Al Ahly
Mohamed Yahya, assistant coach of the Eastern Company team, spoke about the defeat his team suffered against Al Ahly this evening, Sunday, in the Egyptian Premier League.
Eastern Company suffered a defeat against Al Ahly, losing 3-2 on Sunday evening in the opening round of the Egyptian Premier League.
Mohamed Yahya stated during the press conference after the match: "For us, the match is clear to everyone, we delivered a great performance against Al Ahly, the African champions, and we were on point."
He added: "We were playing against a big club like Al Ahly, and hopefully in the next period we can present ourselves well and achieve victories."
He added about Kahraba leaving the penalty: "It's a matter of focus and there is an arrangement among the players, and in the end, it's about luck or lack thereof."
The coach discussed the reasons behind the team's decline: "I don't consider it a collapse; when a team falls back to defend, it doesn't mean they are collapsing. You need to be realistic during the match, and it's not wise to open up your lines against the opponent. Moreover, the penalty awarded against us significantly affected the team, especially since it came at a difficult time, and there is debate about its validity."
