Amouta: The match was tough, I knew the start would be like this
Hussein Ammouta, the head coach of Al Ahly, confirmed that his team's match against Eastern Enppi today in the Premier League was tough, noting that he was aware the start of the league would not be easy.
Al Ahly defeated ENPPI 3-2 on Sunday evening at Cairo International Stadium in the opening round of the Egyptian Premier League.
Hussein Amouta said during the press conference after the match: "The match was difficult; we conceded two goals after we were in control, and there were several factors that affected the team."
The coach clarified: "Ashraf Dari has been registered and we will see him with the team in the upcoming period. Yasser Ibrahim was not present today, and we may see an official statement in the coming days to finalize his departure."
The coach stated: "Imam Ashour has not recovered from his injury. He is a great player, but he hasn't participated fully in training. The player wasn't physically ready, so we can't risk playing him for fear of aggravating his injury. Certainly, Imam is a player of great value, and he did request to participate, but I informed him that I can only field him if he is fully fit."
He added: "Al Ahly is a big and popular club, everyone is looking to win titles. Today was a tough start, and I knew that the beginning would be difficult."
