Newman Secures 2-1 Victory Over Al-Fayha with 10 Players in Roshen League
Neom clinched their match against Al-Faihah with a score of 2-1 during the encounter that took place on Friday evening, as part of the first round of the 2026-2027 Roshn Saudi League.
Amadou Kone opened the scoring for Al-Niyom in the 26th minute, giving his team an early advantage and putting Al-Faihah in a tough position to come back into the match.
Al-Faihah received a significant blow in the 33rd minute when Jason Remisero was forced to leave the pitch due to injury, with Nawaf Al-Harithi coming on as his replacement.
Saïd Benrahma doubled Newham's advantage just three minutes later, scoring the second goal in the 36th minute, making it 2-0 in favor of the team.
Christophe Galtier, the coach of Neom, made his first substitution at the beginning of the second half, bringing on Mohannad Al Saad for Said Benrahma in the 60th minute.
Neom's challenge intensified just two minutes into the match when the referee issued a red card to Alaa Al-Hajji, forcing the team to continue the game with ten players.
Al-Fayha took advantage of the numerical disadvantage and succeeded in narrowing the gap in the 75th minute, when Hugo Moura scored his team's first goal, making the score 2-1.
Neom maintained their lead until the end, securing their first three points in their Roshen League debut this season, placing them fourth in the standings after the opening round.
