Youssef Belaili's Father Responds to Esperance Statement
Hafiz Belaili, the father of Algerian international Youssef Belaili, has broken his silence to respond to the statement issued by Esperance Tunis regarding the stalled contract renewal negotiations for his son, asserting that the contents do not reflect the reality of what transpired between the two parties.
The player's father clarified that the talk surrounding Youssef Belaïli's failure to sign a contract lacks any legal basis, considering that his current disciplinary status does not permit him to enter into any new agreements.
Espérance de Tunis announced in an official statement on July 24 that they have closed the file on renewing Youcef Belaïli's contract. The club indicated that the player failed to attend on two occasions to complete the signing of the new contract, despite reaching a preliminary agreement between the parties last June.
In statements to Algerian channel "El Heddaf", Hafiz Blaili denied this narrative, considering that the Tunisian club's management provided the public with inaccurate information. He confirmed that the penalty imposed on Youssef prevented him from signing any contract during the past period, emphasizing that he did not make any commitment or promise to the Esperance management regarding extending his contract.
The club refuted claims made in Espérance's statement regarding its support for the player's case before the Court of Arbitration for Sport, clarifying that the family has enlisted a team of lawyers to defend Yusuf and has handled all legal proceedings related to the case without the club's intervention.
Mouloudia Algiers' management has announced that they have reached a final agreement with international player Youssef Belaïli for his return to the team during the 2026-2027 season, with the agreement set to take effect after the final decision from the Court of Arbitration for Sport regarding the penalty imposed on him, and after he successfully passes the medical examination.
The club's management stated in an official statement that the agreement came after a meeting involving the player, his father, and his agent, with the team's manager, Jamal Belamri, present. All financial aspects and other details related to Playli's return to the "Amid" have been finalized.
