Al-Bazour: Aiming to Change the Technical Identity of Al-Wehdat
Al-Wehdat's head coach, Wassim Al-Bazour, confirmed that his primary goal since taking charge is to change the team's playing identity and bring back the "Green" to its entertaining attacking style, ensuring they are always the ones to initiate pressure and intense attacks on opponents' goals. He explained that achieving this goal requires players with specific qualities, emphasizing that his first responsibility lies in selecting the final squad that will represent the team in the upcoming local tournaments.
Al-Bazour emphasized that opportunities will be available for young talents who deserve them, clarifying that he is coaching the first team, not the youth team. He stated that players aged 17 to 19 will get their chance if they prove their readiness, while he believes that players over 21 or 22 who have spent several seasons with the first team without making an impact find it difficult to discuss their development at the expense of more experienced players.
The Al-Wehdat coach indicated that he accepted the task of training the club due to its significant value in the Jordanian scene, expressing his gratitude to the board of directors and fans for the trust they have placed in him. He also clarified that the Aqaba camp aims to enhance physical and technical readiness and strengthen the family spirit among the players, praising the great discipline and commitment shown by all team members.
Al-Wehdat's director revealed that he has advised the board to sign new professionals to bolster the team's ranks in the upcoming phase, confirming that negotiations with potential signings have already begun to reach a final agreement ahead of their integration into the training sessions. He also sent a message to the club's fans, urging them to put aside differences and rally behind the team, emphasizing that competing for titles will not be possible without their strong support and presence in the stands.
