Leganés Signs Ismail El Ghazi on Loan
Leganés has officially announced the signing of Tunisian international Ismail Gharbi from Sporting Braga on a one-season loan, with the agreement including an option for a permanent transfer.
The 22-year-old Western excels as a playmaker or winger on both flanks. Born in Paris to a Tunisian father and a Spanish mother, he represented the youth teams of both France and Spain before choosing to play for the Tunisian national team. He participated in all group stage matches at the 2026 World Cup.
Al-Gharbi progressed through the Paris Saint-Germain academy, making his first-team debut in 2021, before moving on loan to Lausanne in the 2023-2024 season, where he scored seven goals and provided six assists. He then joined Sporting Braga, where he has played 35 official matches and participated in the UEFA Europa League.
Last season, the Western player was on loan at Augsburg in the Bundesliga, where he gained experience in the German league. He also represented the Tunisian national team in the Africa Cup of Nations and the World Cup. He is now set to join Leganés, where he will participate in the team's training camp in Vigo. He will be officially presented next week as a new player for the club.
