Italian FA in Talks with Pep Guardiola for National Team Role

Italian media reports reveal that officials from the Italian Football Federation are ramping up their efforts to convince Spanish coach Pep Guardiola to take over as head coach of the Italian national team in the upcoming phase.

Sky Sport Italia reports that Paolo Maldini, who serves as the technical director of the Italian national teams, visited Guardiola in Barcelona over the weekend, accompanied by advisor Leonardo.

The network added that the meeting lasted nearly three days, featuring intense negotiations between the parties to discuss the possibility of Guardiola taking over the leadership of the "Azzurri" in the upcoming period.

The report noted that there are currently no indications regarding the 55-year-old Spanish coach's stance on accepting the offer, just weeks after his tenure with Manchester City concluded.
