Former Jordan Coach Rejects Zamalek Job
Jamal Al-Salmi, the former coach of the Jordan national team, has finalized his position regarding leading the first team of Zamalek next season, succeeding coach Moataz Jamal.
Salami has officially apologized for taking on the coaching role at Zamalek for the upcoming season. This decision follows negotiations he had with the club's management in recent days, after his departure from the national team following the 2026 World Cup.
According to Moroccan website "le360" today, the Moroccan coach's decision to decline the offer came after a thorough evaluation of the request from Zamalek officials, as he preferred not to pursue a coaching role in the Egyptian league at this time.
Moroccan sources have revealed that Zamalek's management is actively searching for other coaching options to lead the team in the new season, following stalled negotiations with both Moroccan Jamal Salami and Portuguese Alexander Santos, the current head coach of Kuwait SC.
Jamal Salami has made his mark in golden letters in the history of Jordanian football; after leading the "Nashama" national team to a miraculous qualification for the 2026 World Cup for the first time, before exiting the competition in the group stage.
