Cologne Eyes Re-signing Elyas Skhiri from Eintracht Frankfurt

German reports reveal that Cologne is exploring the possibility of re-signing their former midfielder, Tunisian international Elyas Skhiri, who is currently under contract with Eintracht Frankfurt.

According to "Sky Sport Germany", Cologne's management is considering Skhiri as an option to strengthen their midfield during the summer transfer window, especially if the deal for Mexican midfielder Edson Álvarez falls through.

The report adds that Skhiri, who previously played for Cologne from 2019 to 2023, is open to the idea of returning to his former club, with discussions taking place between the involved parties away from the spotlight.

The Tunisian player's contract with Eintracht Frankfurt runs until the summer of 2027, meaning that completing the transfer will depend on reaching an agreement between the two clubs during the current transfer market. The German newspaper "Bild" was the first to report Cologne's interest in re-signing Skhiri.
