Official: Al Ain Announces Departure of Kodjo Laba
Al Ain has officially announced the departure of their all-time top scorer, Togolese striker Kodjo Laba, after a seven-year stint filled with numerous individual and collective achievements with the club.
The club expressed its gratitude to the player via a message on its official X account, stating: "A chapter ends, but the memories remain... Thank you for everything, and we wish you success in the future."
Laba, 34, joined Al Ain in 2019 and etched his name in the club's history by becoming the all-time top scorer in the UAE Pro League in September 2025, surpassing the record of club legend Ahmed Abdullah, who scored 124 goals.
The Togolese forward also made history by becoming the first player to win the UAE Pro League top scorer title five times, solidifying his status as one of the most prominent strikers in UAE football history.
Reports indicate that Laba has received several offers from clubs within the country, including Sharjah, which is looking to strengthen its attack with an experienced striker with exceptional scoring abilities.
