Leeds United Signs Harry Wilson on Four-Year Deal
Leeds United has officially announced the signing of Welsh forward Harry Wilson from Fulham after his contract with the London club expired.
Wilson has signed a four-year deal with Leeds, becoming the team's first signing of the summer transfer window, having chosen to join the "Whites" despite receiving several offers from other clubs.
The 29-year-old is an experienced player in the Premier League, capable of playing in all attacking positions due to his speed and quality in the final third.
Wilson began his career at Liverpool, where he made just two appearances for the first team before shining during loan spells with various clubs. He excelled at Hull City, scoring 7 goals in 13 matches, earning the club's Player of the Month award and the Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Month award.
He also had a loan spell at Derby County, where he scored 15 goals during the season, including a stunning free-kick against Manchester United in the EFL Cup.
Wilson then moved to Bournemouth in the Premier League, scoring in his first two matches against Aston Villa and Manchester City, finishing his first season in the Premier League with 7 goals.
He had another stint with Cardiff City before starting a five-season period with Fulham in 2021. He contributed to the team's promotion to the Premier League in his first season by scoring 12 goals, before helping them establish themselves in the competition in the following years.
Wilson left Fulham after making nearly 200 appearances, having had a standout season last year with 11 goals and 8 assists, also winning the club's Player of the Season award and the BBC's Goal of the Season award for his stunning goal against Crystal Palace.
On the international stage, Wilson has had a distinguished career with the Wales national team, becoming the youngest player to represent the senior team in 2013, surpassing the previous record held by Gareth Bale. He has made 69 international appearances, participating in UEFA Euro 2020 and the 2022 World Cup, and scored a hat-trick in the 7-1 victory over North Macedonia.
Leeds United has welcomed Harry Wilson to Elland Road and looks forward to seeing him in the team's colors as the new season kicks off.
