Official: Al Ahly Signs Armenian Edward Spertsyan
Al Ahly has officially announced the signing of attacking midfielder Edward Spertsyan from Russian club Krasnodar, as part of the team's preparations for the new season.
The club welcomed the player through a message on its official X account, confirming his addition to the squad in a move aimed at enhancing their attacking strength in midfield.
Spertsyan, 26, is regarded as one of the standout stars in the Russian league, with a market value of around €25 million, having excelled with Krasnodar and represented the Armenian national team.
The player began his football career at the Krasnodar academy, progressing through all age groups to reach the first team, becoming one of the club's most prominent talents without any professional experience outside Russia.
Spertsyan is known for his versatility, capable of playing in multiple positions, particularly as a playmaker and attacking midfielder. He possesses excellent vision, precise passing, and proficiency in set pieces and long-range shooting.
The Armenian star had an impressive season with Krasnodar, participating in 42 matches across all competitions, scoring 14 goals and providing 18 assists, solidifying his status as one of the most impactful midfielders in the Russian league.
