Egypt Climbs to 24th in FIFA Rankings, Third in Africa

The Egyptian national team has made significant progress in the global rankings, jumping to 24th place, making them the third-best African team following their victory over Australia and qualification for the Round of 16 in the 2026 World Cup.

Morocco leads the African teams, sitting in 6th place globally with 1788.86 points, while Senegal ranks second on the continent at 18th globally with 1653.43 points. Egypt now stands at 24th globally with 1597.04 points.

This rise reflects the impressive results achieved by the "Pharaohs" in the 2026 World Cup, having successfully overcome Australia in a penalty shootout to secure their spot in the knockout stage, continuing their journey in the tournament with confidence and high aspirations.

Egypt is set to face Argentina, the 2022 World Cup champions, in the Round of 16 on Tuesday at 7 PM Cairo and Mecca time.
