The Norwegian star Erling Haaland continued his remarkable performance in the 2026 World Cup, leading his national team to qualify for the Round of 16, reaffirming his status as one of the tournament's standout stars with new historic records.

Haaland scored the second goal for the Norwegian national team in their 2-1 victory over Côte d'Ivoire in the round of 32, leading his team to a strong match against Brazil in the round of 16 of the tournament.

The "Squawka" account pointed out that Haaland alone matched the record for the most goals scored by the Norwegian national team in a single World Cup edition, after scoring five goals in his first three matches in the 2026 World Cup. This is the same number of goals scored by the entire Norwegian team in the 1998 edition, which was their best in terms of scoring in the history of their participation in the tournament.

Opta Stats Network added that Haaland has scored in his last 13 official international matches with the Norwegian national team, netting 25 goals during this exceptional scoring streak, reflecting his continued success in finding the back of the net for his country.
