Zehwani Approaches Ajax: The Moroccan Talent Lands in Amsterdam

The Moroccan international Fouad Zahwani has taken a decisive step towards embarking on his first major professional experience in his career, having arrived today, Tuesday, in the Dutch capital Amsterdam in preparation for completing his transfer to Ajax during the current summer transfer window.

Informed sources revealed that the Ittihad Touarga player will undergo a medical examination this evening before officially signing a contract linking him to the Dutch club for three seasons, after all parties reached a final agreement on the details of the deal.

According to the same source, the negotiations between the two parties initially resulted in an agreement for Zahwani to sign a four-season contract, but it was later agreed to reduce the duration to three years.

Zahwani is regarded as one of the most promising rising talents in Moroccan football, having notably excelled with Ittihad Touarga. He benefited from the training he received at the Mohammed VI Football Academy, which has become a factory for many Moroccan stars in recent years.

The player also made a notable impact with various national teams, being one of the key players who contributed to Morocco's Under-20 team winning the World Cup in Chile under the leadership of coach Mohamed Wahbi, in addition to his contribution to reaching the final of the Africa Cup of Nations for the same category in Egypt.

Zahwani's achievements did not stop there, as he also played a significant role in the local team's victory in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) held in Kenya, under the supervision of coach Tarek Sektioui, which reinforced his status as one of the most promising names in Moroccan football.

Zehwani's move to Ajax marks a historic milestone in his career, as he will be the first player to transfer directly from the Moroccan professional league to the Dutch giant, which has previously seen the brilliance of several Moroccan stars, led by the Moroccan star Hakim Ziyech.
