Barcelona Considers Potential Swap Deal with Juventus
Barcelona's management is considering including defender Ronald Araujo in a swap deal with Juventus to sign full-back Andreas Cambiaso during the summer transfer window. However, the Italian club does not seem convinced by this offer yet, despite its previous interest in the Uruguayan player.
According to what was published by the Italian newspaper 'La Gazzetta dello Sport', Cambiaso has become one of the players likely to leave Juventus at the moment, as the club needs to sell some of its elements to compensate for the revenue decline resulting from missing out on the UEFA Champions League in the 2026/2027 season. This makes the player one of the most prominent saleable assets.
The newspaper explained that Juventus values Cambiaso at around 40 million euros, an amount the club hopes will cover a large part of the expected financial deficit, which could reach about 60 million euros.
It also indicated that both Barcelona and Chelsea have shown interest in signing the player, with the Catalan club considering offering Araujo as part of the deal. Meanwhile, Juventus currently prefers to receive direct financial compensation instead of swap deals, aiming to reinvest the proceeds in several positions within the team.
Despite Juventus's previous interest in Araujo during the winter transfer window of 2025, the Italian club's management is not inclined to enter into swap deals, giving Chelsea a relative advantage in potentially signing Cambiaso through a direct financial offer.
