Barcelona Demands Punishment for Florentino Perez Due to His Statements Against Refereeing

FC Barcelona issued an official statement calling on La Liga, the Spanish Football Federation, and the Referees Committee to take urgent action against Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez, following remarks he made during public appearances on May 12 and 13.

The Catalan club affirmed that the statements it described as "false" represent a serious attack on the reputation and image of the Spanish league competitions. Additionally, they undermine the entire refereeing system and harm the credibility of professional football in Spain.

Barcelona emphasized in its statement that the continuation of such remarks negatively impacts the prestige of the institutions organizing the competitions, calling on the relevant authorities to intervene to protect the integrity of the competitions and maintain trust in Spanish football.

The Catalan club demanded that the league association, the Spanish federation, and the referees' committee take urgent organizational and legal actions against Florentino Perez, in defense of the honor, integrity, and prestige of the institutions they represent and the competitions they oversee.
